A millionaire Qatari businessman right now denied inflicting the demise of a pedestrian in a £250,000 Rolls-Royce close to Buckingham Palace.

Hassan Nasser Al-Thani, 41, collided with 66-year-old Charles Roberts whereas driving the purple Rolls-Royce Wraith round Hyde Park Nook, it’s mentioned.

He stopped and was charged with inflicting the demise of Mr Roberts within the early hours of August 22, 2019.

Mr Roberts, from Harpenden, Herts, died on the scene of the crash on Duke of Wellington Place whereas the Rolls Royce was left with a big crack on the windscreen.

Al-Thani appeared on the Previous Bailey right now through video-link from Doha, the capital of Qatar.

Assisted by an interpreter, he denied inflicting demise by careless or thoughtless driving.

Paul Edwards, defending mentioned: ‘I’ve had a problem with seeing Mr Al-Thani nose to nose, in gentle of the truth that Qatar is on the purple listing for Covid.

‘It went on the listing on 19 March.’

Mr Edwards added: ‘We hope with the announcement of the federal government this week with the secure nations to satisfy the defendant in a 3rd nation.’
